Geobranding (again)

January 18, 2005

Influx has often mentioned the idea of Geobranding. Mostly its been about regions, states and countries jumping on the brandwagon. We’ve been amiss and failed to mention good examples of Geobranding.

So here goes,Oregon.

Oregon has had its fair share of economic hardship, so the state government teamed up with ad agency Wieden and Kennedy to develop some really inspiring communication. designed to attract business, tourism and promote the state’s produce. It has strong emotional feel and through it, you really start to understand what makes the state unique.

The other thing, the effort has apparently been pretty successful, but could be cut, because of the lack of available funds, a consistent problem for many Geobranding efforts.
