Made in china

January 24, 2005

Putting a new lens on the theme of globalization is exactly what Mardi Gras: Made in China achieves. It’s one of the more interesting documentaties being shown at Sundance this year. The film juxtapozes West and Eastern worlds, using the unifying item of Mardi Gras beads. It looks at the world from the perspective of the workers in the Chinese bead factory and contrasts those lives, with those of the bead wearers in New Orleans.
