Today’s trend for 2006, comes from Howard Rheingold of Smart Mobs. Howard believes that in 2006 we will see a real explosion in the impact of open platforms in business and society.

“Open platforms, from IBM’s patent commons to Sun open sourcing Java to the Amazon and Google open APIs, are only beginning to open up the boundaries of institutions, enterprises and markets.”
