Beck lets his listerners create
July 6, 2006
Beck is about to release a new album he recorded with maestro producer Nigel Goodrich (Radiohead et al).
One thing the big art fan has latched onto is the desire for the consumers to get engaged in the creative process.
So your thinking, he’s going to let people remix the tracks, that’s a possibility.
However, what he recently told MTV was a revolution for the world of cover art. The new album cover will be blank, but instead of being a copy of the “White Album”. it will be packaged with a set of stickers to let the listeners create their own album art.
This consumer generated media thing has come a mighty long way in such a short time.
Pretty cool, but what happens if your fans download your album digitally?
