Ikea’s pop-up rooms
April 10, 2006
Jean Snow reports from Japan that Ikea has set-up a series of pop-up rooms as a preview for a new store opening in Funabashi. Ikea are calling it 4.5 Museum. It features 14 separate, identically sized rooms including, a TV room, a kid’s room, an art gallery, a dream room and a wild animal room.
It’s a playful interpretation of a pop-up store; a cool twist on Ikea’s promise of affordable home furnishings and an interesting approximation of the Ikea shopping experience.
As Influx has mentioned before – this pop-up store idea still has legs.
