Is spot runner the e-bay of advertising?

January 29, 2006

Spot Runner is a new web based service that allows small and medium sized companies to place advertising on cable networks. Its user-friendly interface appears to take most of the complexity out of planning and buying and even creating an ad. They even have a selection of beautifully crafted generic ads that your business can put its name on.

It appears to be a smart idea for those advertisers who still believe they need TV spots to drive their business and who can grumble about getting an ad on air for $500. This is perfect if you are not concerned about creative quality, or the day-part where their spots will air. For the country’s 11 million local businesses that are currently underserved by the sales departments of cable companies and advertising agencies, this is a great solution.

One of the founders, Nick Grouf is interviewed here.
