Brand scarface

October 2, 2006

Scarface grossed $65 million worldwide since its release 23 years ago in 1983.

The film has become a cult classic, one that seems to get stronger the older it gets.

What’s quite surprising is that the movie also has a plethora of brand licensing deals across an incredible spectrum of product categories.

- Scale models of Tony Montana’s cars
- T-shirts, baseball hats and board shorts
- Reprints and posters of images from the movie
- 10-inch tall scale model of Tony Montana finished in gold
- Comic books and graphic novels
- Blankets, rugs and comforters
- Scarface branded cigars
- Billiards, cue sticks, poker chips
- Voicetones and graphics for mobile phones
- A videogame that will be launched October 8th

The films enduring appeal lies in the classic rags to riches tale that turned Tony Montana into a hero, especially in the world of hip-hop, but Influx isn’t sure if the Scarface comforter and rug range quite fits with the essence of the brand.
