A mobile hotel for grups

August 7, 2006

Travelodge the UK “motel” chain has come up with a brilliant idea, a mobile hotel for the festival set.

This is the perfect response to the needs of the Grup

Grup, who wants to live like he’s seventeen, but he has his limits. After a day a long day at a festival, the last thing a Grup wants to do is deal with is a tent, mud and general discomfort.

Travelodge has the answer to this with its pod that comes complete with a double bed, bedside tables, lights, duvet, pillows, a dressing table, mirror, chair and toilet all for $50/night.

This project is currently only a test.

There’s an interesting idea here for other hotel brands to take note of.

Could they extend their brands to new locations?

Using state of the art mobile rooms, it night be possible for these brands to go to places they can never go on a permanent basis; exotic beaches, ancient ruins, jungles and deserts could all now be within range.
