Brand collaboration: apple and intel

January 14, 2006

The seemingly unthinkable collaboration between Apple and Intel is much larger version of the mutuable benefit deal of Skype and Kodak, that Influx mentioned earlier this week.

Intel gives Apple both technology and big brand credibiltiy to propel its market share foward and further encroach on the territory of traditional PC makers.

More importantly, for Intel, Apple is playing a role as a guiding beacon for a company that is rapidly trying to adapt to a changing marketplace. Inside Intel the union with Apple is being celebrated and looked at as an iconic example of a company that understands the power of marketing and innovation.

Business Week’s recent story on the new Intel, highlights in great detail the transformation taking place at the world’s biggest chip maker, as it moves into different cateogories and places much greater emphasis on marketing and research. Ethnographers are now taking a much more important role at Intel, as the company searches to uncover what markets and new consumers are really seeking out of technology.

The Apple/Intel union is celebrated in this new commercial.
