A cultural hub for journalists

Cultural hubs are physical environments that are based around a single cultural idea that use their environment and their social context to actively promote and enable their theme.

The latest hub Influx has discovered is Frontline in London. Frontlne is a club where independent journalists and importantly, anyone that’s interested in the issues these journalists cover, can gather to meet, eat and be stimulated by talks, films and conversation.

The club was born out of the ashes of Frontline Television News Agency that closed down. This agency would send cameramen out into the frontlines of conflict zones around the world.

The Frontline club hosted Yahoo’s Kevin Sites in February and on the 27th June the authors of Mao:The Untold story will share their insights.

There is probably a great opportunity for a respected news or media brand to do the same thing. Why shouldn’t the Economist, Time, CNN or even Fox News, create its own cultural hub?
