Untapped mass entertainment properties are hard to find these days and someone with the mass appeal of Thomas Kinkade, even harder.

Lion’s Gate were interested in the project…“….because of the accessibility of his artwork and his massive mailing list.”

This has to go down as the first time in history that a movie deal has been done based on the size of a mailing list.

Lion’s Gate’s marketing team will still have their work cut out, films about art and artists never do that well at the box office and spinning the story that Kinkade is an artist, just not like the other guys, might be a tough.
