I fully agree with the main idea in this post. I would also go a step further and say that the reporting by public companies as to their environmentalal, social and governance (ESG) activities — as well as their ethical standards — be ‘standardized’ AND that such reports be subjected to proper audits and available for all stakeholders to review. Only then can we know that greenwashing is not taking place and that we have ESG/ethical reports that can be relied upon and thus really able to do company by company comparisons.
