A chair speaks volumes

May 25, 2011

The renowned Dutch furniture designer, Maarten Baas, has been putting his communication skills to work for Amnesty International, creating a 5 meter tall chair for the organization’s 50th birthday celebration.

The chair is dedicated to Nobel Peace Prize winner Liu Xiaobo who is currently serving a prison sentence for undermining the state.

It’s a great example of how something physical can communicate a very powerful message and it shows you don’t always need an ad campaign to achieve this, when a chair might be a better alternative.
