Defining the strategic landscape
April 22, 2011
It’s pretty easy to get confused and caught up when you are trying to plan ahead- there can be lots of blurring between strategy, vision, mission and plannerspeak make it easy for the intent to get wasted because each step is not clearly defined and separate.
Thanks to The Futures Company, I came across a really nice way to define these by Hardin Tibbs, a UK based futurist- who uses the “ideas” that star = organizational purpose, mountain = strategic objective and the chess board = strategic environment.
By turning the intangible into the tangible it’s possible to get clarity and make something that everyone can understand.
