Legos meet gi joe

January 15, 2003

Could it be that kids are finally becoming bored by the multi-colored toy-aisle sea of ultra-detailed, mass-produced figures that are designed more as merchandising extensions of the latest TV show or hot movie, than as objects for play? It certainly seems so as ‘blank slate’ toys like ‘STIKFAS’ are becoming trendier each month. STIKFAS incorporate model-making (you have to build them from a bag of pieces), customization (they come as a bag of solid-colored options, dozens of arms, legs and guns as well as pages of decals) and complete articulation and moldability (every joint is a ball-socket).
