Urban outfitters goes green
May 22, 2007
Urban Outfitters will launch a new concept next year designed to appeal to men and women
interested in a creative, sophisticated experience. The idea is to fuse the home and the garden into a single experience inspired by the “Greenhouse”. The stores will be free standing and sell home and garden products, live plants and flowers. Sounds like more of a challenge to Smith and Hawken, that any fashion retailer. It appears Urban has noticed a shift in the importance and value of home-based experiences; people moving from the kitchen and living room to the garden.
It’s the aesthetic part of the “Green” trend and it’s not clear if sustainability has any role to play in this new concept.
