Dugg ads pay less

June 7, 2009

One reason that creatives don’t fully connect with the media world is that there’s never been a relationship between the quality of the creative and the price of an ad.

It looks as if Digg have set out to try and change that. They are offering advertisers the opportunity to pay less there more their ad is “Dugg” on their site. This allows the community to select the best ads it wants to see and challenges agencies to develop great creative for the site. As this is only in the test phase it remains to be seen if it will be adopted long term, but it’s a sign that the media is starting to place some value on the creative quality of advertising.
