Contagion:The Spread of a Viral

There’s something cool about seeing how a viral ideas spreads, so to see a time-lapsed visualization is interesting to look at. It’s almost as if there’s a kind of Eames “Powers of 10″ effect at work, because there’s so much complexity at the micro level, but it’s also very clear what’s happening from 30,000 ft, ¬†as you see this virus spread and grow in the petri dish of culture.

In this case, it’s the latest Dove campaign that’s been put under the social macromicroscope- which shows how it took around 10 days for this thing to catch fire.
